WELCOME TO BOZEMAN'S HISTORIC PUB

Located inside the historic Baxter Hotel on Main Street, we welcome you to stop by our cozy neighborhood pub. Pick from any one of our 12 rotating beers on tap or sip on one of our classic cocktails as you catch up with friends, new and old.

Baxter has owned the space since 1929, but it was not called "The Bacchus" until the 1960s. Since then, it has operated as the Bacchus Pub, with the exception a brief time when the space housed a Mexican restaurant.

about us

The Bacchus Pub shares an intimate history with the Baxter Hotel, often called “the crown jewel of Bozeman.” This iconic landmark has served as a diverse meeting place since opening its doors to the public in 1929. Its strong community roots speak to the nature of Bozeman’s residents then and now.

Our Story

Nearly a century ago, the Baxter was funded and developed by Bozeman community members who felt the town needed a central gathering place for locals, as well as a new modern hotel to welcome visitors.

With ranchers, miners, entrepreneurs and weary travelers all converging here, the Baxter quickly became a cultural crossroads where new and old friends were made, stories were shared and Bozeman’s history and culture were shaped.

Now, almost 100 years later, we invite you to also be a part of our history. Whether you are a long-time local, you recently moved here or you’re just passing through, we want to meet you. Tell us where you’re from, why you're here and what you’re drinking.
